Dear Friends, One of our Temple’s greatest assets – Morah Idit Cohen – has recently been appointed Director of Temple Beth Israel’s Religious School. Our school sessions will take place on Sundays, beginning, G-d willing, August 30th. There will be three different classes covering students aged five through 12. We need your help in spreading the word to your friends and relatives that Temple Beth Israel is striving to make its school one of the best in Broward County! Please read Morah Idit’s letter below; check our website for more information; and begin REGISTERING YOUR KIDS and/or GRANDKIDS NOW!!! Todah and Shabbat Shalom! A Letter from Idit Cohen, Director of TBI’s Religious School "V'shenantam L'vanechem" -- "And You Shall Teach Them Diligently to Your Children" (Devarim 6:7). Dear Friends, The Torah statement above emphasizes the obligation parents have towards teaching their children. Our Talmudic sources, as well, stress this importance in order to ensure our future well-being as a Jewish nation. For the past two years, I have had the honor of teaching at TBI, and am now stepping up to the next level of becoming TBI’s Religious School Director. With a planned expanded curriculum geared to students aged five through 12, my primary goal will be to ensure the finest Jewish education for our students! The school curriculum will be unique, fun and interactive and will center on fascinating aspects of Jewish culture -- Torah, T’fillot, Israel, the Hebrew language – as well as on many more areas that, together, we can call our "Jewish world". Temple Beth Israel has a wonderful vision. We see ourselves growing tremendously in the years to come. We are close to relocating to a beautiful permanent facility/location that will give our religious school and congregation the opportunity to stand out in the Jewish community. Our children are our future and I promise that I will be devoted to this Jewish educational cause since I truly believe that this is my purpose in life. Please spread the word and participate! Working together we will make the new TBI Religious School a resounding success!! Sincerely, Idit Cohen Religious School Director |
